A site visit has been scheduled for Friday, July 21, 2023, at 10:30am EST with Melissa Swiderski at the Hammond U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building, 5400 Federal Plaza, Hammond Indiana, 46320. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after award.

The contractor shall perform a pre-alteration test and balance of the existing kitchen exhaust system. Provide a report with a list of deficiencies.
The contractor shall perform cleaning of the kitchen exhaust system in compliance with NFPA standards. Observe the vertical ducts for any fluid that escapes the kitchen exhaust ductwork. Provide a report.
Visit site to verify the documents reasonably reflect the actual conditions. The contractor shall verify that adequate physical space is available to perform work. Verify the removal and relocation of items necessary to complete work. Develop shop drawings and schedule trade efforts to accommodate the project.
Remove the welded kitchen exhaust ductwork from the ceiling of the second floor. Remove any finishes, utilities, equipment, conduits to accommodate demolition and providing new reconfigured kitchen exhaust duct.
Provide new kitchen exhaust duct with a reconfigures routing. Connect to the existing vertical black iron exhaust duct and existing kitchen exhaust hood. Provide access panels, supports, UL listed kitchen exhaust duct, etc.
Perform leakage test, test and balance and any testing required by kitchen exhaust manufacturer. Submit reports.
Re-install ceilings, utilities, equipment, ducts, conduits that were removed to accommodate efforts to demolish and replace kitchen exhaust duct. Relocate items conflicting with the new routing.
Provide closeout documents consistent with the front-end specifications.
The contractor shall perform efforts when the building is closed to the public. The bid shall reflect working at these times.
The contractor shall cordon off the area of work to allow for the partial use of food prep spaces during construction. Provide temporary partitions, dust protection, access doors, etc.
