Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a Firm Fixed Priced commercial contract to Rolls-Royce Corporation, 450 S. Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46225. This contract is for the procurement of up to 84 Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) 100 Class MT7 production engines, 21 engine installation kits and 20 LCAC 100 Class MT7 spare engines. This requirement will be negotiated on a sole-source basis in accordance with statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. There is only one source that can provide these supplies because Rolls-Royce is the sole manufacturer of the LCAC 100 Class MT7 Engine and its installation kits. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under FAR Part 12 Commercial Items procedures.



This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
